How to Get to Kep Crab Market (from Kampot & Phnom Penh)
Kep Crab Market is an easy trip from Kampot and a straightforward half-day from Phnom Penh. Here is how to reach the seafront market.
From Kampot
Kampot is the most common jumping-off point. The market is roughly 25β30 km away, about a 35β45 minute drive depending on road and traffic. Options are a tuk-tuk (cheapest, slowest), a shared taxi, a private taxi, or a motorbike/moto if you are comfortable riding. Agree the fare before you set off, and allow extra time if you want to stop on the way.
From Phnom Penh
From the capital, take a bus or taxi to Kep (roughly 2.5β3 hours), then a short tuk-tuk or moto from the Kep bus point to the seafront market. Some travellers do Kampot as a base and day-trip to Kep, which keeps the final leg short.
Within Kep
The crab market sits on the Kep seafront, a short ride from the town centre and from most guesthouses. Many visitors simply walk the waterfront or take a passing tuk-tuk. There is roadside parking for motos and cars near the stalls.
Note: the famous giant blue "Crab King" statue is near Kep Beach, about 1.5 km from the crab market β a different spot. Don't confuse the two when giving directions to a driver.
Finding it on the map
The market's coordinates are 10.4865Β° N, 104.3051Β° E (Plus Code F7QQ+HG4, Krong Kaeb). A driver can also simply be pointed to "Kep Crab Market" β it is the well-known seafood row on the water.
